"Sounds like a plan, baby!"
"So how long do you think it'll be before we change it?"
So, it appears that the Pacific Northwest is no place for Mike and Jamie. Freezing cold temperatures and rain make Jamie incredibly unhappy, the rain causes Mike to have to slow down on the freeway, and a 20% tax on liquor is just not in the budget! Today we decided to leave Seattle behind (no Orcas Island or Space Needle) and head... somewhere that makes us both happier.
Apparently this whole going with the flow thing is still a huge struggle, because this whole change caused way too much whining and moping, which luckily Mike is a pretty good sport about. I'm pretty disappointed about not seeing whales, but really, I was miserable on dry land in that place. An ocean? No thanks!
So after many different ideas, including Mt. Rainier, Crater Lake, a hotel over looking the Columbia River, Portland for "some of that entertainment you like and want me to do more of with you" (guess who said that?), we've finally decided on a plan. We're headed to Eugene to crash for the night, then headed to the coast! Driving down Route 101, camping, hiking and walking along the ocean. Hmmm... How is this different from home? I guess we know what we like!
