Day 7: I'm BiCentennial, Baby!

Last day in Yellowstone!

I'm updating on a 14 hour or so stretch from Yellowstone to Seattle. Mike's been jamming to Sinatra and Matchbox 20 (hence the title). Apparently I just encourage his ridiculous antics with my laughing. Can't help it, nothing else to do!

We went on another 9 mile hike this morning, our last in Yellowstone! Slough Creek, in the Northeast part of the park, is an angler trail that goes 11 miles to the park boundary and into Montana. Supposedly frequent bear and moose sightings (don't worry, Mike carried bear spray and made constant jokes about being the fastest draw in the West) but all we saw was bison. Lunch at a picnic spot in the park, then on the road all night!
Overlooking the river through Yellowstone.
Goodbye Yellowstone!
Some sort of cool-looking wildflower near Slough Creek.
The first valley on the Slough Creek trail.  Normally there is another trail through this valley, but the snow runoff turned it into a lake!
