Up at 6:30 this morning to set off on what we thought was a 6 mile hike and hopefully see some wildlife. Well, 4 hours of a hike later and we aren't sure how far we went, but we had some interesting encounters with wildlife! Our trail started out through a meadow, where we were probably a football field away (guess who used that measurement!) from some bison, elk, and deer. We continued past a sulphur area (so gross... I'm pretty sure that's what made me sick the other night) and Clear Lake, Lily Pad Lake and Ribbon Lake. I thought the hike past the lakes would be a good place to see wildlife, but we didn't see anything near the lakes. Anyway, things started getting confusing at Ribbon Lake... Signs were off, and the trail back wasn't hard to find, but it seemed that the mile markers were really inaccurate, which is why we have no idea how far we went! Really the coolest part of the hike was the part I was too nervous to take pictures of! As we approached the open field, a bison was basically blocking our path on the trail. We waited until he passed (Mike took some video and I tried to hide in the trees.Beautiful morning and it's only noon! What else can we get into today?

Figured it out! Thanks to a trail map from the visitors center... About a 9 mile hike. Not a bad morning!
